The main goal of the Music program is to enable students to communicate in ways that go beyond their oral language abilities. With a focus on Creating and Making musical pieces; and Exploring and Responding to various stimuli. As part of the Instrumental Program Grade Six will continue to develop their ability to play the guitar.
The Grade Six will be focusing on the following Units of Inquiry

• Communication
  Central Idea: Musical elements allow us to effectively express our ideas

• Styles
  Central Idea: We can use musical elements to define ourselves

• Traditional vs Contemporar
  Central Idea: Exploring the cultural and historical perspectives of how music is constructed allows us to create music in different ways
